The City of Miramar is located in Southeast Florida, just north of Miami, south of Pembroke Pines and Hollywood to the northeast.
The City of Miramar Fire-Rescue was established in 1956 and was comprised of an all-volunteer staff. At that time the population of the city was approximately 5,000 residents. Today our department services over 150,000 residents with a full time professional staff of over 150 dedicated career personnel.

about Miramar fire-rescue
The City of Miramar Fire-Rescue Deparment was established as a volunteer service in 1955. Volunteers were notified by the sounding of a civil defense siren located on top of City Hall.
In 1956, the Fire-Rescue Department consisted of thirty volunteer members and a women's auxiliary. Miramar's first fire engine was delivered in October 1957 at a cost of $15,000.READ MORE
