Welcome to the Miramar Fire Rescue Department's website. Our primary mission is to protect and serve our community with pride and professionalism. The City of Miramar is approximately 31 square miles and located in Southeast Florida, just north of Miami.
The City of Miramar Fire-Rescue was established in 1956. At that time the population of the city was approximately 5,000 residents. The fire department was comprised of an all volunteer staff. Today our department services over 110,000 residents with a full time professional staff of over 150 dedicated personnel. The City of Miramar Fire-Rescue responds to approximately 11,000 requests for assistance annually, 7,000 of which are medical in nature while the remainder account for various types of emergencies including structural fires, hazardous materials incidents, water related rescues, and animal rescues. We also answer the request for over 250 public demonstrations annually to teach fire safety and prevention to our community.
