When the late, legendary Arthur Mitchell created Dance Theatre of Harlem (with co-founder Karel Shook) 50 years ago, he was intent on creating a revolutionary vision for ballet. In this second year of a two-year 50th Anniversary Season, DTH continues the work of challenging perceptions with a stirring look at the future of ballet by presenting a powerful vision for ballet in the 21st century. The 17-member, multi-ethnic company performs a forward-thinking repertoire that includes treasured classics, neoclassical works as well as innovative contemporary works.
